New to the wonderful world of blogging

This has been a long time coming. My husband has been telling me for years that I should write a blog. I spend an obscene number of hours online (I have searching random celeb facts on imdb.com down to a science and message boards are responsible for the majority of my sanity these days). I am highly opinionated and constantly seeking information. Becoming a mom took my neuroses to a whole new level (I beg you, do NOT google things like 'bump on child's neck' or 'high fevers in small children'...you WILL convince yourself that both you and your child, your entire family even, have some rare, incurable disease). I am a school psychologist who loves what I was trained to do, but don't get to actually do most of those things anymore. I'm at a pivotal time in my life right now where I am ready for a change--I need a change--and want to revive my passion for writing.

How can I combine all of those things: parenting, expertise in education and mental health, writing, making major changes in my life and career? Why, BLOGGING, of course! I'd love to make this blog a resource for parents seeking information and support, a sounding board for frustrations and triumphs. I also see myself reviewing products, books, websites...you name it, I'll review it!

I have been blessed with many supportive communities in my life, both online and IRL, since becoming a mom and I could never express in words how essential this level of support has been in molding me into the mother I have become three years into the experience. I have a lot to learn (don't we all?) and a lot to share.

I hope you will join me for the ride!
